My high school football coach once told me that “Proper Preparation Prevents a Piss Poor Performance.” I have found that there is no worse feeling than getting to the transition set up for a race and realizing that you have forgotten something. Here at the Prepared Idiot we want to help you avoid that feeling as much as possible so here is a list of things you might want to bring to starting line of a triathlon. Continue reading
American diets and weight loss fads tend to center around subtracting food options form our personal menus. Taking away whole food groups might help you lose weight in the short term but often lack all of the health benefits that you receive by eating a well balanced diet. So why not start down the path to a healthy life style by adding good antioxidant rich cancer fighting foods instead of subtracting whole food groups form your menu.

Most of us can imagine ourselves getting on a bike and flying down the street because we unbolted the training wheels from our bikes at five. As for running, we all have run at some point. Be it with a junior high school teacher screaming at us to go faster or playing tag with our friends in the front yard. It is not beyond imagination that we can overcome either of these two disciplines with enough time or practice. With the water there seems to be more fear and worry. This was one of the biggest obstacles for me to overcome as well.
From pounded out iron to highly sophisticated polymers the gold pan has remained the last step in any gold prospecting operation. I am always intrigued by simple and elegant tools that have stood the test of time and remain the standard by which things are done. Why dose gold panning work? Continue reading
